Missions Mobilization in Mexico
Since 1992 we have been active participants in the Mexican Missionary Cooperation (COMIMEX). Latin America to the World is responsible for the follow-up department of COMIMEX whose purpose is to help prospective missionaries fulfill their calling.
Barnabas Ministry
The name of this ministry is Barnabas (Bernabé in Spanish) because Barnabas helped establish Paul and John Mark as missionaries. Barnabas also means "Son of encouragement" or "one who is called along side to help" which describes the function of the Barnabas ministry.
The Barnabas ministry assists future missionaries through its many programs and activities which include the following.
• Monthly meetings are held in Mexico City, Acapulco, Queretaro, Poza Rica, Tampico, Chihuahua, Ensenada and Monterrey. In every meeting time is spent praying for the needs of the world and for missionaries. A missionary speaker is invited to share their experiences and insights with the others. The meetings also provide an opportunity for counseling and planning other activities. One of our purposes is to form a fellowship of like-minded Christians for their mutual edification.
• Short-term missions trips are sponsored to indigenous areas of Mexico to provide cross- cultural experiences.
• Several seminars have been offered to help missionary candidates.
• Participation in missions conferences and events. The missionary candidates have presented an Exposition of Mexican Ethnic groups as part of missions events.
A Move of God
Jesus said that this gospel must be preached in all the world as witness to all nations and then the end would come. (Matt. 24:14) Today many third-world countries are sending their best into the unreached corners of the planet to win the lost. The purpose of Latin America to the World is to "Help a mission field become a mission force."
