Latin America to the World

 Latinoamérica al Mundo México S.C.

Founding and MissionLAMM was founded in 2000 as a missionary-sending agency, to serve the Mexican church and the missionaries whom God is calling to take the gospel to the nations from Mexico.

StructureLAMM is registered as a non-profit organization (S.C.) in Mexico.   A board of directors meets regularly and is responsible for its successful operation.

Function of the agency

bullet Bring the call to missions to the Mexican church.
bullet Prepare Mexican missionary candidates for foreign-field service.
bullet Provide administrative services to the Mexican missionaries.
bullet Provide pastoral care for Mexican field missionaries.
bullet Establish relationships with ‘receiving agencies’ for placement of Mexican missionaries abroad.

Current work

bullet LAMM is currently serving Mexican missionaries:  in North Africa and Turkey; a missionary-in-preparation with Wycliffe in Peru; two LAMM-affiliated missionaries, based in Mexico, are focusing on evangelization of the Jewish community in Mexico and ministry to Cuba; still others are on their way to Asia, the Arabian Peninsula and Indonesia.
bullet In 2006, as our first ‘pastoral care’ trip, we were able to visit a LAMM missionary to North Africa; in 2007 we will be visiting the missionaries in Turkey and North Africa.

Goals and plans for the futureLAMM is in growth-mode, and is focusing on the following strategic projects:

bullet Inmersión - A proven discipleship and missions training program.  Inmersión offers a short-term experience, provides missionary training and a cross-cultural experience in a disciplined atmosphere.
bullet Pastoral care for missionaries –Proper spiritual covering requires ‘walking’ where the missionary walks and experiencing life on the field with him or her.    Two board members will travel together on two trips per year.  (4 people traveling /year).  This is an invaluable encouragement to pioneer missionaries.
bullet Hosting or Speaking at Conferences and Seminars to promote and develop the Mexican missionary movement.
