God directed us to the state of Tlaxcala to work in a church
planting ministry. Tlaxcala is located on the high plateau in the central part
of the country. It is one of the most densely populated areas outside of Mexico
City. There are many towns throughout the state which have no Evangelical
church.

Tlaxcala is an agricultural region with a summer rainy season
and a cool climate. Tlaxcala is known for its textiles, many of them made on
hand looms in home factories. There is also some light industry in the area
which provides employment for many people.
The people of Tlaxcala have very strong ties to the Roman Catholic church
which go back to the time of Hernan Cortes, the "conquistador" of Mexico. This
religious tradition has made it difficult for many people to receive the light
of the gospel, or accept a message of salvation and a new life in Jesus.
After several years of preaching from town to town, God showed us that the
best strategy to reach the area was to establish a church in Apizaco, Tlaxcala's
central city. The evangelization of the state must be done through the Mexican
church. This revelation launched us on a long pilgrimage to establish a church
with a vision of taking the gospel to the ends of the earth.
